Some advice for ice skating at the Drogheda Winter Festival
1.You must possess an arm bracelet (which you get on arrival at the Festival), which must be produced for access onto the ice rink.
2. Children under the age of five years old are not permitted to skate and organisers would prefer children aged 12 and under to be accompanied onto the ice by an adult
3. The event organizers reserve the right to refuse admission to any person. Persons will not be admitted if in the opinion of the stewards, they are under the influence of alcohol or an illegal substance.
4. You must observe the following conditions, while on the ice.
DO
DO make sure your skates are correctly fastened
DO listen to the skate marshals/management
DO make sure you skate in an anti-clockwise direction
DO report all accidents to a member of staf
DON'T
DON'T sit or climb on the safety barrier
DON'T chip, throw or spray ice
DON'T skate at excessive speed
DON'T smoke, drink or eat on the ice
DON'T drop litter on the ice
DON'T carry young babies or young children on the ice
DON'T skate in chains of more than two people
DON'T skate under the influence of alcohol or drug
5. Please note: ice skating is a sport with inherent risks. All patrons skate at their own risk.
